Holy Cow

So far we have been able to purchase 2 cows to help the children with nourishment. Titus sent me a couple pictures of the cows.

Uniforms

Several months back we were able to purchase school uniforms for the children. Titus just sent me these pictures of some of the kids in their uniforms.

Here are some of the children that we help to care for.

This is the home that we have been offered for free. We would not have to pay rent to live here. Up to 20 children could live in this home. Although it may not look like much to us, to them it would be a great blessing.

The benefit to having the children in an orphanage is the fact that all of the money would go directly to feeding, clothing and caring for their needs. Currently the money goes to an entire family (similar to a foster home in the States). Although we try hard to make sure the children are cared for there is no guarantee that their needs will be attended to. Sometimes the immediate families take care of the child's needs last.

This is Titus Namachanja and his wife. Titus is the gentleman who runs Children of Redemption in Kenya. He is the man who puts everything together and fights for the children on a regular basis. Titus is a man after God's own heart. His love for the children is evident in all he says and does.

Update 10-12-09

Hello Everyone. We are beginning our project to earn money to acquire our 501c3. Although this may seem like a small thing to some, it would give us more options to raise money for the children. Attaining our 501c3 status would enable us to apply for grants and also enable any donors to write their donations off as a tax deduction. We are taking donations of $1, $5, $10 or whatever you feel led to give. We hope to attain our 501c3 status by the end of 2009.

We also accept sponsors for the children at this point. We have been offered an orphanage for free and we are trying to raise the money to buy beds, appliances, etc to be able to move into this home. This home would sleep 20 children.

If you have questions please feel free to call Lisa at 719-351-9077.
